Adobe Audition is an audio editing application from Adobe. It replaced Adobe Soundbooth in Adobe Creative Suite 5.5.
Product history[]
Audition originated as Cool Edit Pro by Syntrillium Software before being acquired by Adobe Systems in 2003 for US$16.5 million.[1]
Starting in October 2017, Audition CC will rely on the Windows or macOS operating systems for decoding and playback of Dolby audio. Versions prior to CC 2017 10.1.2 are no longer available and future versions will not provide support for encoding Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus sound formats.[2][3]
